10. This is a cute little book targeted for young elementary age students. This book is told in the puppy's point of view. Slippers is happy, because he knows he has a wonderful family that takes good care of him. Mom gives Slipper food all the time and dad takes him on long walks. Laura is like Slippers best friend. Slipper decides he wants to go to school with Laura and without her knowing he sneaks into her backpack. He goes on several adventures. He gets to ride the bus, visit the gym, cafeteria, and the Principal's office. Laura never noticed that Slipper is with her. This is a colorful book that will engage young children and get them to want to read it. It could be used in a kindergarten class as the "book of the week." Students can pick out sight words while reading it in class.
